Anna Wittenberg is an interdisciplinary artist based in Los Angeles with roots in Texas and Arkansas. Anna employs both installation and performance in association with video to explore the corporeal dimension of experience. Her work has increasingly focused on questions around play and its cultural and biological significance. Many of her projects use video and sound to push, alienate or distance, and pull, draw-in or coax, in an effort to interrogate contemporary and historical cultural mores. Anna’s work has been part of several group shows in Southern California and, in the Spring of 2014, her video was included in CATALIN, an exhibition at the Contemporary Museum of Austin. Anna received her BA in Media Studies at Pitzer College and is currently working toward her MFA in visual art at the University of California Riverside.
